The Art Deco movement, was Bakst part of it? Well, Art Deco was really a reaction to Art Nouveau, which replaced Nouveau's fluidity with an angular and harsher world. Bakst is commonly heralded as an Art Deco artist. But, to me, he seems a whole lot more like a part of Symbolism. What do you think?
